Two men have died following a head-on collision on the Capricorn Highway, east of Duaringa.
Initial investigations indicate a Mazda-3 was travelling east on the highway just after 8.00pm last night, when it collided with a Toyota Hilux travelling in the opposite direction.
Police say the Mazda-3 burst into flames as a result.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at 8.16pm, following reports one vehicle was on fire and patients were trapped.
The drivers and sole occupants of both cars passed away at the scene.
Officers say a cattle truck that was nearby at the time of the incident received minor damage and the driver was uninjured.
The highway was blocked in both directions and remained closed for several hours.
