Rescue helicopter called to five incidents in two days

CapRescue has responded to five incidents in just two days.

The busy weekend for the rescue chopper saw them assist people in need, from rural communities to popular coastal spots.

On Saturday morning, Rescue300 was called to Clarke Creek to assist a man suffering a suspected heart attack.

The crew stabilised him on scene before transporting him safely to Rockhampton Hospital.

Later that morning, they carried out an inter-hospital transfer from Emerald to Rockhampton, before being called to an incident on Great Keppel Island in the afternoon.

A woman hiking on the coastal trails when she sustained a suspected fracture, with the rescue helicopter flyinf her to Rockhampton for treatment.

Sunday saw Rescue300 respond to Heron Island, assisting a woman experiencing breathing difficulties whilst snorkelling.

Later that day, another patient was transferred from Yeppoon to Rockhampton for more advanced hospital care.

CapRescue CEO Darren Pirie says the busy weekend highlighted the great work they do in the region.
