Man airlifted after bee stings at rural Rockhampton property

A man has been airlifted to hospital after suffering an anaphylactic reaction following bee stings at Moronish.

The man was fencing yesterday morning, when he was stung and developed a serious allergic reaction.

The CapRescue helicopter was called to the scene at around 9.40am and landed at the rural property so the man was able to be treated before he was airlifted to Rockhampton Hospital.

Rescue300 pilot said the dry conditions and resulting dust were among the factors that needed to be considered when landing on site.

While the task involved just one hour of flight time, it highlights the importance of being able to take critical care directly to patients when time matters, particularly across rural and remote parts of Central Queensland.

Rescue300 was tasked by Queensland Health.
