A 24-year-old Mackay man has been charged in relation to an alleged assault and traffic incident on Wednesday.
Police were called to an address on Malcomson Street in North Mackay at 11.20am.
Initial investigations indicate an 82-year-old man was assaulted and his vehicle damaged.
As the elderly man attempted to leave the area, an 81-year-old woman, believed to be his wife, was struck by his vehicle.
The woman was taken to the Mackay Base Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
A 24-year-old man was taken into custody.
He has been charged with one count each of serious assault, wilful damage and unlawful entry of a vehicle.
He is expected to appear before Mackay Magistrates Court on November 21.
Investigations remain ongoing, anyone with information or who witnessed the incident is urged to contact police.
