Large stash of meth and cannabis seized

A major drug bust has been made at a property north of Rockhampton.

Police searched a Glendale address around 7.40am on 13 October, allegedly seizing a large quantity of cash and dangerous drugs, including methamphetamine, buprenorphine, and cannabis.

A 40-year-old Rockhampton City man was arrested and charged with three counts of possessing dangerous drugs (methylamphetamine, buprenorphine, and cannabis), and one count each of authority required to possess explosives (ammunition), possess utensils, possess anything for use in the commission of crime, contravening order about information necessary to access information stored electronically, or possess tainted property.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to reappear before Rockhampton Magistrates Court on December 10.

Detective Acting Inspector, Brett Richard said officers will continue to employ a zero-tolerance policy towards the possession of dangerous drugs.

“There is no place in our community for the possession and distribution of these harmful substances,” he said.

“Our officers are committed to removing these drugs from our streets and ensuring offenders are held to account and placed before the courts.”
