Dozens of roads shut following widespread flooding in the Gladstone region

Around 90 roads in the Gladstone region have been impacted by flooding, after the region copped rainfall totals of 100 to 300mm in 24 hours.

Dozens of local roads have been closed with floodwaters also rising over Mount Larcom Road and the Bruce and Dawson Highways.

Some places copped more than 200mm in just six hours yesterday afternoon leading to widespread flash flooding.

Westwood Range and Captain Creek between Miriam Vale and Agnes Water saw the biggest totals with more than 250mm of rain there since yesterday morning.

Flood warnings are in place for Baffle Creek and Boyne and Calliope Rivers.

The weather is easing today, but motorists are urged to follow all warnings and never drive through floodwaters.

Meanwhile, around 200 locals at Agnes Water, Baffle Creek, Deepwater and Rules Beach are without power this morning.
