Central Queensland man faces 66 charges, accused of break and enters across region

A 30-year-old man has been charged with 66 offences as part of Operation Exscind which was created to investigate a series of break and enter incidents across Central Queensland over the past two months.

Between February 20 and May 4, a number of businesses were allegedly broken into at Gladstone and Yarwun, police say.

Following this, police say the man then broke into a number of businesses at Tannum Sands on May 5 and May 8.

Around 5.20pm on Sunday, officers from the Gladstone Criminal Investigation Branch attended an address in West Gladstone finding the 30-year-old and arresting him in connection to the offences.

The South Gladstone man was charged with 28 counts of enter premises and commit indictable offence by break, 20 counts of enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence, 11 counts of attempted enter premises with intent, two counts each of unlawful use of motor vehicle at night, and drive whilst disqualified, and one count each of wilful damage, stealing, and enter premises and commit indictable offence.

He’ll appear in Gladstone Magistrates Court today.
