The Golden Mount Festival 2026 returns to Mount Morgan from Friday 1 May to Sunday 3 May, celebrating its 48th year of community fun and tradition. The weekend kicks off on Friday evening with a family movie night, barbecue and fireworks display at the No. 7 Dam. Saturday features the popular Morgan Street Markets, the annual Gold Dig, street procession and live entertainment throughout the day, along with the much‑loved Running the Cutter event. The festival wraps up on Sunday with the Big Dam Breakfast hosted by Mount Morgan State High School P&C and the Gold Rush Rodeo at Newman Oval. Entry to festival venues is free, with some fees applying for competitions and meals.
