It has been a horror night on local roads with three crashes leaving one person dead, another fighting for life and six others in hospital.
Around 8.20pm Thursday, an orange Holden Colorado utility and a white Holden Rodeo utility collided head-on along the Bruce Highway near the intersection with Oaky Creek Road at Bajool.
A 63-year-old Paget man driving the Rodeo died at the scene, while a 36-year-old man and 33-year-old woman in the Colarado received minor injuries and were transported to Rockhampton Hospital.
The highway was closed in both directions for about six hours while examinations were conducted at the scene.
Anyone with dashcam footage or who may have seen the vehicles just prior to the crash are urged to come forward.
Paramedics have also been called motorcycle crash on Johnson Road and Breakspear Street at Gracemere just after 1am today.
A man in his 30s suffered life-threatening head and chest injuries and has been rushed to Rockhampton Hospital.
Four other people have been hospitalised from a car crash into a tree at Beserker around 7.45pm Thursday.
That incident happened on Rodboro Street and required one person to be cut from the wreckage.
All four people have been taken to Rockhampton Hospital stable.
