The Department of Transport and Main Road advises night road works and changed traffic conditions on Yaamba Road (Bruce Highway/Rockhampton–Yeppoon Road intersection) from mid-May 2025, as part of the Rockhampton Ring Road construction.
Yeppoon Road westbound from Norman Road to Yaamba Road will be closed from Sunday until Wednesday, between 7pm and 6am. A detour via Norman Road and Farm Street/River Rose Drive will be in place.
Motorists are reminded to drive carefully in the area, be aware of changed traffic conditions and follow the direction of traffic control on site.
It’s a part of the Rocky Ring Road North Package 1 construction efforts – which first began in 2023.
The project is fully funded by the Federal and State governments, to the cost of $1.73 billion.
The government calls it a “transformative project” for Central Queensland that will increase connections to key precincts in the city and improve access, travel times to critical services including the hospital and emergency services, and road safety.
