A Flood Watch has been issued for parts of the Rockhampton region.

Showers and thunderstorms are forecast from today and into the weekend.

Catchments in the Flood Watch area are already saturated from heavy rainfall over the past week and are likely to respond quickly to any further rainfall.

Minor flooding is possible which may lead to localised transport disruption and flooding in low lying areas close to rivers and creeks.

Catchments likely to be affected include:

Dawson and Don Rivers
Calliope River
Boyne River
Baffle Creek

This Flood Watch means that people living or working along rivers and creeks should monitor the latest weather forecasts and warnings.

Remember: If it's flooded, forget it.

For flood emergency assistance contact the SES on 132 500.

For life threatening emergencies, call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
