Cyclist airlifted from Gladstone, after being impaled on handlebars
A man in his 70s has been impaled in the leg by the handlebars of his bike, after crashing at a park in the Gladstone region.
Bundaberg's RACQ LifeFlight Rescue chopper was called to the scene, just after 10am.
The Queensland Ambulance Service Flight Paramedic worked with local paramedics to treat the man.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Service personnel had to remove the handlebars from the rest of the bike, so that the man could be airlifted.
He was flown to Bundaberg Hospital for urgent medical treatment, in a stable condition.
