Livingstone Council cancels local events
Events across the region have been postponed due to the current Covid-19 situation.
Livingstone Shire Council has made the tough decision to postpone any Council organised events throughout January and February.
Events like Movies in the Park and Tides and Tunes will be scheduled for a later date.
Other activities that were to take place at the Livingstone libraries, community centre and other facilities will also be postponed until further notice.
A statement from Council says while it's still unclear when the events will be rescheduled, the community will be notified as soon as possible.
The only event still going ahead is the 2022 Livingstone Shire Australia Day awards.
The awards will be much smaller and live streamed to those who can't attend.
For community groups or clubs who use council owned facilities or venues; they are to determine whether or not their events will go ahead, as long as they comply with the Queensland Government’s restrictions.
