Man airlifted off vessel after falling object hits arm
A man has been airlifted from a vessel after a falling metal object possibly fractured his arm.
The RACQ Capricorn Rescue helicopter was called out to the vessel 'Grebe Arrow' at 9:50am yesterday.
A spokesperson for the service says "a metal object fell and collided with his arm ... resulting in suspected fractures".
The rescue crew unloaded while the rotors still running.
"Upon arrival, the crew elected to land on the vessel and perform a hot unload of the crew," the spokesperson says.
"The onboard flight Paramedic and Doctor assessed the patient and prepared him for transport back to Rockhampton Base Hospital.
"The patient was in a stable condition throughout the flight."
