Elderly woman airlifted to hospital in CQ
An elderly woman has been airlifted to hospital after experiencing stroke symptoms in a town north of Rockhampton.
A spokesperson for the RACQ CapRescue helicopter says it was tasked out to Stanage Bay just after midday yesterday.
"RACQ CapRescue were alerted of a distress situation after reports a woman in her nineties was experiencing symptoms associated with a stroke," the spokesperson says.
"The Rescue300 landed in the town’s centre where QAS Paramedics met the flight crew with the patient.
"The on board medical crew consisting of a Doctor and Critical Care Paramedic stabilised the patient before the Rescue300 flight crew transported her to Rockhampton Base Hospital where they will undergo further scans and treatment."
