Calls for witnesses after Gladstone armed robbery

A man is expected to face court this morning after the alleged armed hold-up of a Subway store in Gladstone.

Police arrested the man following the alleged incident on Dawson Road in West Gladstone.

A post to the myPolice Gladstone Region Facebook page says a man produced a kitchen style knife to the two staff members working within the store around 9pm on Wednesday.

"The male person has stolen an unknown amount of money and has then ran from the centre," the post says.

"Police believe that the male person may have nearly ran into two cars at the traffic lights as he was leaving the centre.

"A male is currently in custody and has been charged in relation to this incident and is due to appear in court [Friday] morning."

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have CCTV is urged to come forward.
