Decent falls have been recorded across the region overnight.

Bureau of Metrology forecaster Matt Marshall says some gauges recorded falls above 50 millimeters just inland from Gladstone.

"Gladstone picked up a good drop as well, 49mills at the airport there since 9am (yesterday)," Mr Marshall says.

Looking to the rest of the week, Mr Marshall says the rain might hang around today but the huge bulk has moved away, so it will be really light rain.

"It's generally clearing as we head into mid to late in the week, so the sun will soon start poking out there."
