50 lives lost on Queensland roads already this year
Queensland has reached a tragic milestone with 50 lives lost on our roads so far in 2021, 18 more than this time last year.
19 of the fatalities from the past nine weeks have been motorbike riders, including a 24-year-old man who was killed at Taroom on 24 February a man in his 20's who was killed in Aldoga on February 10.
Acting Chief Superintendent Ray Rohweder has expressed his disappointment at the lack of responsibility drivers are showing on our roads.
“Every day our officers see people making reckless decisions on our roads,” Superintendent Rohweder.
“While police are on our roads deterring people from committing offences, it’s up to you to be accountable for your actions.
