Fatal crash, Lowmead

A man has died after a camper van crashed into a pylon of a rail bridge overpass and caught on fire at Lowmead.

The fatal crash occurred around 5.30pm yesterday on Lowmead Road.

Structural inspections of the bridge have been carried out, leaving the rail line closed for several hours.

The driver is yet to be identified, with Forensic Crash Unit continuing to investigate.
