A new boat and early retirement are on the cards for a Gladstone fisherman, who has taken out $1 million in last night's Gold Lotto.

The local held one of two division one winning entries in the draw, with a Bundaberg couple also taking home $1 million.

The anonymous Gladstone man became overwhelmed when an official from The Lott called to tell him the good news.

“It’s insane!" he says.

“I am a millionaire; isn’t that a strange thought?"

When asked how he planned to enjoy his windfall, Central Queensland’s newest millionaire had no hesitation.

“I am going to get a new boat, there will be a few fishing trips too.

“I might retire earlier than I ever thought too.

“I am not too sure yet though, I never thought I would be contemplating what to do with $1 million!”

It’s the second division one win to land in Gladstone this week, after a local woman took home more than $1.5 million in Saturday's Gold Lotto $30 Million Megadraw.

The latest winning ticket was purchased at Nextra Valley News in Centro Valley Shopping Centre.

Owner Rosalie Mcpherson says she is thrilled for the winner.

“There must be a rainbow shining over Gladstone."
