A Rockhampton man's been charged with acts intended to maim, following an attempted stabbing at Allenstown.
He allegedly approached a resident on the verandah of a home and asked for directions before pulling out a knife on Saturday evening.
Police claim the 58-year-old resident managed to block the knife and punch the man, who fell backwards down the stairs suffering a head injury.
A 55-year-old was transported to hospital for further treatment..
He's faced Rockhampton Magistrates Court yesterday, where he was remanded in custody.
His case will return to court in December.
