Rockhampton Dog Squad sniffs out alleged offender

A man has been charged after allegedly running from police on Saturday October 17.

Around 2pm, Rockhampton police were called to a Denison Lane address after reports of a disturbance.

Upon arrival, police allege the 29-year-old man ran from officers.

The Rockhampton Dog Squad was called in to track the man. Great work from PD Sacco and his handler Sergeant Jeff Brandt who located the man hiding under ground tarps, tables and shelves a short time later.

He has been charged with a number of offences including extortion, common assault, burglary, stealing, trespass, enter premises and commit indictable offence.

The man is next scheduled to appear in the Rockhampton Magistrates Court on November 3.
