Horse rider injured in mustering incident

A woman has been injured in a mustering incident in Central Queensland.

The RACQ Capricorn Rescue crew responded shortly after 9am on Monday, to a primary horse fall, approximately 160 kilometres south west of Rockhampton.

A female patient in her fifties had reportedly fallen from her horse while mustering, resulting in suspected spinal injuries.

The patient received initial medical assistance from responding road Queensland Ambulance Service Paramedics, prior to the arrival of the Rescue300 crew.

The on-board medical crew then provided further assistance and prepared the patient for the flight to Rockhampton Hospital.

The patient was transported to Rockhampton in a stable condition.
