People across Queensland are banding together to help those impacted by the recent bushfires, with homes lost on the Sunshine Coast and in Central Queensland.

Charity GIVIT has put the call out for donations, asking for money in particular.  

The organisation's Joanne Beadle said funds would be used to help volunteers on the ground get essentials to affected residents.

"Essentials such as food or clothing or maybe a new bed; that money allows us to buy it straight away and we will buy it in the local area, it also helps those small businesses that may have been impacted" she said.  

100 per-cent of donations will go to the victims.
