The middle-aged ex-teacher was a victim of workplace bullying and a mental institution ex-patient, who is now an advocate for empowerment, bully prevention and
self-care through her books, speaking events and performances.

Karen also made an appearance at the Capricon Pop Culture Convention in April. She performed Superhero Pantomimes and presented a Superhero writing workshop to
a room full of excited children hoping to one day be writers like her.

Karen, amazingly, has received a letter from Sir David Attenborough thanking her for her latest children’s book 'Great Barrier Reef Rescue' and wishing her success in protecting the Reef.
