Survey Reveals LNP Ahead In Tight Seat Of Flynn

Sitting Member for Flynn Ken O'Dowd looks to have edged ahead of Labor's candidate, according to a new poll.

Mr O’Dowd is ahead 53-47 on two-party-preferred terms, according to exclusive YouGov Galaxy polling.

He holds a slim one per-cent margin.

Labor's Zac Beers has tried and failed to win the seat previously and conditions were looking favourable this time around.

The Courier Mail reports the survey was carried out on Monday and Tuesday, at the height of unrest over the decision to suspend a Gladstone subcontractor for asking Bill Shorten a question.

Now the LNP has demanded the crime watchdog investigate that decision to see if it was politically motivated.

The UAP did not run a candidate in Flynn in 2016 but has now secured 11 per cent of the primary vote, with more than one-in-10 voters saying they will support Clive Palmer’s Party after he secured a preference deal with the Coalition.

One Nation is down 10 points to 7 points according to the YouGov Galaxy poll.

The Greens have around 3 per cent compared to their 2016 results.
