Rockhampton police have charged two people after they allegedly assaulted a man with an axe during a break and enter.
The incident happened earlier this month at an address on Upper Dawson Road.
Police say that around 10.45am on February 10, the pair, aged 22 and 27, assaulted a man with a small axe and stole his vehicle, a white Holden Commodore.
The man was admitted to hospital with minor arm injuries and has since been released.
It’s further alleged the 27-year-old reversed the vehicle at high speed into the street, forcing other drivers off the road.
He was arrested in Norman Gardens on February 13 and charged with one count each of armed robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
He is set to appear before Rockhampton Magistrates Court on April 19.
A 22-year-old man was arrested on February 19 at an address in The Range.
Police say during the arrest, the man assaulted two police officers.
He’s been charged with one count each of armed robbery and unlawful use of a motor vehicle and two counts of serious assault of a police officer.
He appeared before Rockhampton Magistrates Court on Monday.
