Rescue chopper called to near-drowning off CQ island

A man has been rescued after nearly drowning at Masthead Island off the coast of Gladstone.

The man in his 30s was swimming near a boat around yesterday morning when he started struggling in the water.

CapRescue was called to the island and assessed the man, before loading him up and flying him to Gladstone Hospital for further treatment.
