Nine people rescued from floodwaters in CQ

Nine people have been rescued by the RACQ CapRescue Chopper, after they became trapped due to rising floodwaters, north of Emerald.

The Rescue 300 chopper was called at 6.17am on Saturday to assist four children and five adults who became stranded on Grasstree Road at Mackenzie River.

No injuries were reported following the rescue.
