The Capricorn Coast festival begins today, with a number of free and low-cost activities available for everyone to enjoy.
An inflatable fun park, outdoor movies and a laser light show are just some of the activities on offer, throughout the December and January school holiday period.
Coordinated by Livingstone Shire Council, the program starts today with Adult Christmas Centrepiece Workshops held at the Fig Tree Galleries and finishes on January 21 with the Marlborough Pool Party.
Councillor Rhodes Watson says the program features a range events that cater to a variety of interests.
“Children’s yoga, art and craft activities, outdoor movies, cupcake decorating, water sports, as well as the New Years’ Eve Spectacular and Laser Light Show, are just some of the awesome activities and events on offer,” he says.
“Our increasingly popular Tides and Tunes will be bringing another line up of live music to the Yeppoon foreshore.
“Our school holiday programs have proven to be very popular and activities can often book out quickly, so I strongly encourage all families to start planning and booking in as soon as possible.
“A special addition to this program is the Inflatable Fun Park which will be held in the beautiful Bell Park, Emu Park from Sunday 1 January until Sunday 8 January.”
“These activities and events bring our shire to life and I applaud the Council staff and the local groups and organisations who have organised such a wide variety of fun activities for the community to enjoy,” Mr Watson says.
