- Blood is needed every day of every month of every year

- One in three people will need blood or blood products during their life
- Only one in 30 people currently give blood
- There are eight blood types but O negative blood donors have a special role to play in saving lives. O negative blood can safely be given to people of any blood group in an emergency situation
